Need to know the difference between incadescent, halogen, and xenon bulbs?

Doing a new construction. Bathroom lighting issues. Are halogen and xenon bulbs good for makeup application or are they like flourescent light?Need to know the difference between incadescent, halogen, and xenon bulbs?
Incandescent is a heated tungsten element like most household bulbs and it releases much of the energy as heat. Halogen is a brand of incandescent lighting in which the gas causes the free tungsten molecules to collect on the element giving the element a much longer life. Xenon is a metallic gas which will give off white light like a fluorescent bulb which doesn't release as much energy as heat like an incandescent does.
