I want to put new carpet in. how do i get the bed and furniture out? 5th wheel 1993 jayco 28ft long. thanks?

If you try to remove the bed and the furniture, I think you will have more problems than you bargained for. The most practical way to replace the carpet if installing yourself is to cut the carpet around the bed/furniture and use metal carpet strips to secure it in place. Ideally an RV dealer should be the ones to replace the carpet because they have the required tools and knowledge of the RV. Costs a little more but is a professional looking job.I want to put new carpet in. how do i get the bed and furniture out? 5th wheel 1993 jayco 28ft long. thanks?
THIS IS PROBABLY OVER YOUR HEAD!!

Now, having said that. The bed doesn't come out(probably) the rest of the stuff is bolted to the floor. If there is a slide you've probably got problems. In many cases the slide has to come out. Carpet in an RV is not like the carpet in a house. Houses use tack strips, carpet in RV's is stapled in- if there are tack strips then the carpet has ALREADY been replaced. In that case call a carpet guy and pay him to do it. an RV dealer will charge from $800 to 1500 LABOR plus parts. It's a pretty big job.I want to put new carpet in. how do i get the bed and furniture out? 5th wheel 1993 jayco 28ft long. thanks?
I had the same thing come up in a motorhome, if you cant disassemble the stuff, you have to move it around or destroy it, no other way, they put the *** end of the RV on last, like a ship in a bottle! Everything is screwed in place. You have to pop the mattress off, and under the bed are some star shaped screws. Same goes for the cabinets and dinnette.
