Is google chrome faster than firefox?

I'm using a Clearwire 4G wimax wireless modem %26amp; am currently running firefox. I have made every tweek I know of %26amp; I still have connectivity issues %26amp; slow service. Google Chrome is what my Comp TIA A+ instructor uses, should I follow suit? Would this solve my speed %26amp; connectivity issue? Fyi: I'm using a new Toshiba L505 Sat. %26amp; all drivers are updated. Any ideas?Is google chrome faster than firefox?
Benchmarks from different companies have found Chrome to be faster than Firefox. But different systems may give different results. I recommend downloading Chrome and run the Sunspider Javascript browser benchmark on both browsers to determine which one is faster:

When you compare Firefox and Chrome (without addons, just the bare minimum) then yes, chrome is faster. Firefox with addons will slow down and so will chrome. Chrome's addons so far don't add as much significant lag as firefox does, however Chrome addons are still new and in some ways aren't as functional as Firefox addons.

Yes, but less secure than firefox. Stick with FF for now, until chrome gets more secure/developed.
