How do I get my bookmarks bar & home page icon back on google chrome?

I recently installed google chrome on my laptop %26amp; it's apparently an updated version, which I don't like so far, but my main problem is not being able to access my bookmarks bar %26amp; it would be nice to have the home page icon, but my main problem is the bookmarks bar.How do I get my bookmarks bar %26amp; home page icon back on google chrome?
bookmarks bar = press CTRL + B to hide/unhide

Bookmarks bar doesn't come up when you are viewing any webpage.It only comes up when you open the 'newtab' .

In options%26gt;basics , check that 'show home button on toolbar' to get that button back.
