Chrome keeps googling the url I put into the address bar whether i press enter or the go-to-url arrow. Can this be turned off? This didn't start until after I installed an update for Windows Vista. How to turn of Google Chrome auto url search?
It shouldn't do this unless your mouse is hovering just under the address bar. Try moving your mouse somewhere else while you type the URL. You can turn it off under settings-%26gt;under the hood. It's in the privacy section and is called use suggestion service... Hope this helps. How to turn of Google Chrome auto url search?
That was annoying me as well. The answer is to create a spoof search and make it your default.

The important part is the URL section. Put in http://%s

Google chrome will use whatever you put into the addressbar (for example: foobar) and rewrite it to http://foobar

Hope this helps.
