Google Chrome slow after updating Avast?

The other day I had to restart my computer to update Avast. I use Google Chrome. Google Chrome has always been super fast for me. Now it's taking forever to load pages and my K9 Web Protecting stops responding. What is going on? I used to use Internet Explorer but something happened to it where now if I try to click on it it says "Internet Explorer is not responding".

I don't go to suspicious websites, watch porn, or play games. My computer is not a gaming computer. I go to Facebook, Yahoo Answers, Dearblankpleaseblank, A few Spartz network websites, Memebase. Grouchyrabbit, Iwastesomuchtime, blogspot, songmeanings, metrolyrics, and grooveshark on a daily basis.Google Chrome slow after updating Avast?
Remove AVAST .

Install AVIRA antivirus.

It's free and believe me, I am using it for 2 years ..it's the best.

It have even won best free antivirus award of 2010...it won't make your browser slow.Google Chrome slow after updating Avast?
Maybe when you updated it, the program is doing more things, and it is being a Ram hog. Sometimes when you update things, it will affect a lot of other programs.
