Hi, I'm an expert on Xenon Lights, I own my own xenon hid system brand.
The problem you are describing could be bound to the Check Control of his car, to an insufficient size of the power lines, or to a battery problem
Check control is that electronic device that locates electronic failures in a car, such as - for example - a broken bulb.
when you install a hid xenon system, the ballast only drains 35Watt, while the car expects a 55W drain: the check-control system thinks there's a broken bulb.
There are many side effects of the Check-control, flickering, lights off, a light on the dashboard, etc.
In your specific case you can solve in 2 ways:
1 - (easier, but less chances of solving): use ready-made capacitors warning canceler wire. You could find easily on eBay I guess.
2 - (a little more complicated, but is a sure solution): use a relay harness for HID. It makes the HID ballast be powered directly from the battery, and the relay is used as an electronic switch.
